How To - Install Kaspersky v7 on Windows Print E-mail
This tutorial will take you through the steps to install the Kaspersky Anti-Virus on
your Windows workstation. In most cases the defaults are selected, so if you feel
confident enough you should be able to install it by only glancing at the selections
set out here from time to time.

However if you would like to be sure, this is just the tutorial for you as we have
set out each step along the way.

1.

Download the Kaspersky trial version at

http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-virus_trial

2.

The next page gives you an option of download sites for ftp or http – it doesn't really matter which one you

choose, but you may want to select the site closest to you in order to save bandwidth.

3.

You should get a pop-up window asking if you want to save the file. Click on Save File, then choose your

preferred directory.

4.

Once the file has finished downloading open it from the location where you saved it (or you can do it via the

download manager in Firefox).

5.

If you get a warning about opening an executable file, ignore it and click OK

6.

You will be prompted for a location to extract Kaspersky files. The default is fine.

Click Next >

7.

After completing this task (it may take a short while) the wizard will ask you to close other applications that are running.

Once you've done so, click on Next >

8.

This brings up the End User License Agreement (EULA) – in order to proceed you are required to accept the

licensing agreement. Once you are satisfied with the agreement's stipulations, tick the radio button

(we recommend that you accept it).

Click Next >

9.

You will be asked which type of installation you want to do – click on Express

10.

The InstallShield wizard gives you a last chance to review your selections. If you are happy that all is ok, click on Install

Once done, click on Next >

13.

You will be asked to specify your activation type - choose as appropriate in your situation, probably via an

activation code or an existing license key.

14.

Enter the relevant code.

15.

After activation click Next >

16.

Installation is now complete. You have a last opportunity to go back and modify or review some of your choices.
The last step is to restart your computer and the wizard will do this for you if you click on Finish

17.

After Windows restarted you should see the Kaspersky icon in the status bar - that means it's up and running.
